CONTRACTS SLR does much of its business with its customers over the phone or on the internet, and as such both parties are legally bound to abide by these verbal/internet agreements. In most cases SLR will send a confirmation, a document that is emailed, faxed or mailed, that will serve as the interim contract, providing a description of the particulars for the individually requested services.

However, for companies and agencies that expect to request ongoing services or services that are more complex, SLR believes it to be conducive to the relationship to have a SUGGESTED AGREEMENT or a GENERAL CONTRACT on file with both SLR and the customer. This agreement serves to outline many topics such as fees, invoicing and payment, and cancellations. For questions related to contracts you may CONTACT SLR.

FEES vary from assignment to assignment and are based on:

the amount of time from start to finish

the setting: legal, medical, mental health, technical, etc.

the number of interpreters required

the amount preparation time the interpreters need

the time and distance the interpreters must travel

the amount of lead time given to SLR to secure the interpreters

INVOICING SLR prefers to send out its invoices shortly after the interpreting service is provided. When an assignment runs for less than one week, invoices will be sent after all services are completed. However, for longer assignments, SLR will divide the time period billed into smaller increments.

PAYMENT is expected within 30 days after invoice date. Late payments may be subject to a rebilling fee. For your convenience, you may make a payment to SLR by phone using VISA and MasterCard.

CANCELLATIONS are a normal part of doing business. SLR has spent a great deal of time considering the implications and fairness to all parties involved; customer, consumer, contractor, and sub-contractor. When you schedule an interpreter, the commodity you purchase is not only the interpreter's skills, but his or her time. When an interpreter is confirmed for the time you request, he or she can not do business with another customer on that particular date and time. In the event of a cancellation, sometimes the interpreter will not be able to recoup the time or income lost, so a cancellation fee may be charged in conjunction with the cancellation policy.

If you need to cancel a request please notify us as soon as possible by calling 845-566-7951, anytime day or night. During non-business hours the answering service will relay your information to the staff. Please click here for specifics regarding cancellations.

HIPAA LAWS SLR respects the right to privacy for all of the individuals we serve. However, in order for a suitable interpreter to be selected, and for the interpreter to be best prepared to assist in communication, the information we will ask you is:

Consumer's name

Specific nature of medical situation and treatment

Anatomical references (part of body that will be discussed)

Names of medical personnel and contact persons
